Hysteria: wandering womb, psychological diagnosis, catch-all dismissal? A word used throughout the ages, the definition changing as the world changes, but the overall accusation remaining the same: that women are overreactionary, overwrought, and overemotional.
"Calm down, honey, you're being hysterical."
From Cassandra to Britney Spears, using poetry, historical records, film noir, and interview excerpts, ranging from humorous to heartbreaking, The Hysterical Woman walks in the shoes of women ridiculed, ignored, accused, and institutionalized.
CAST: Linda Sue Anderson, Destiny Davison, Ariel Pinkerton, Rachel Flynn (replacing Katie Starks, who had to withdraw due to a family emergency), and Andrew Troth.
