This website is, of course, about all things Fortune's Fool. Those of you who are big fans just might want to know about other projects that our co-artistic directors, Daniel Pinkerton and Ariel Pinkerton, are doing with other artists and/or other companies. Because they bring a little bit of Fortune's Foolishness to everything they do.
Ariel has been designing lighting for theatres all over the Twin Cities and beyond—as far away as Theatre L'Homme Dieu in Alexandria—and she'll do more by the end of the year. In 2024, she took her storytelling show, Put a Needle to Me, to the Tucson Fringe Festival, appeared in and designed lights for Bonehouse/Outsider, a Ghoulish Delights production (where she is now an artistic member), and reprised her Tucson Fringe show at the Minnesota Fringe Festival. That's in addition to acting in and designing the lights for our upcoming production of Lincoln's Children, which you can read about elsewhere on this website. Whew!
Daniel writes musicals. Holy crap, do they take a loooong time to develop! And yet, his last one, The Lady with a Lap Dog (music by Robert Elhai) was given its world premiere in September 2017. Just five years later, the somewhat larger and more complex Cold Planet Warm Heart (music by Robert Elhai again) premiered (November 2023). Therefore, aside from his Grampa gig, he tends not to have many side hustles.
