This website is, of course, about all things Fortune's Fool. Those of you who are big fans just might want to know about other projects that our co-artistic directors, Daniel Pinkerton and Ariel Pinkerton, are doing with other artists and/or other companies. Because they bring a little bit of Fortune's Foolishness to everything they do.
Ariel has been designing lighting for theatres all over the Twin Cities and beyond—as far away as Theatre L'Homme Dieu in Alexandria—and she'll do more by the end of the year. In 2023, she took her storytelling show, A Mermaid in Narnia (on LSD) to the Tucson Fringe Festival, appeared in Tourist Trap, a coproduction between Ghoulish Delights and Mermaid Productions, and will be an actor and a writer for 5 Prisoners, the Fringe show from Ghoulish Delights (where she is now an artistic member). That's in addition to all her work on our Fringe show and fall show, which you can read about elsewhere on this website. Whew!
Daniel writes musicals. Holy crap, do they take a loooong time to develop! And yet, his last one, The Lady with a Lap Dog (music by Robert Elhai) was given its world premiere just five years ago, and the somewhat larger and more complex Cold Planet Warm Heart will open this November. Therefore, aside from his Grampa gig, he tends not to have many side hustles.
